Verb Form List of Regular verb & Irregular verb

The verb is one of the eight parts of speech that is most important in English Grammar while writing sentences. The verb plays an important role as a word in a sentence, which makes the sentence meaningful. A verb is a doing word that shows an action, an event, or a state performed by the subject of a sentence. A sentence may either have a main verb, a helping verb, or both. The helping verb is also called an auxiliary verb.

In other words, a verb is a word that informs about action, the existence of something, or an occurrence. No sentence can be completed without a verb.

Certain verb forms are used in a sentence depending on the tense of a sentence or we can say the tense of the sentence is also recognized by the use of the different verb form along with the main and helping verbs.

Types of verbs:

There are two types of verbs mostly used in sentences

  1. Regular verbs
  2. Irregular verbs.

Regular verbs:

Regular verbs are also called the simple verbs that follow a pattern when moving from one tense to another. The regular verb only changes -d or -ed at the end of the word to change its forms. The past form of the regular verb ends with -d, -ed, -t, -ied, respectively.

Irregular verbs:

Irregular verbs are not like regular verbs, and they sometimes follow the same pattern of the same words but not any steadfast rule to change the forms respectively. Irregular verbs do not obey the following criteria of -d or -ed pattern to change the form from one to another.
